Minutes for May 5, 2006:
Attendance: 7 of 13 members

3:30pm: Meeting convened.

Brian Donovan from the UMass SLC was kind enough to provide CASA pens, which Jess distributed to all meeting attendees that had not already taken one while waiting for sufficient students to arrive to achieve quorum.

3:35pm: Jess reported on her plans after graduation; she will be moving to North Carolina to work as the Senior Research Software Engineer for the Rennaisance Computing Institute (RCI). Congratulations, Jess!

3:45pm: Special elections were commenced, necessitated by Jess leaving and vacating the office of President. Elaine was nominated to serve the rest of Jess's term, and ran unopposed. Her appointment was approved by a vote of 7-0.

Corey nominated himself for the now-vacant office of Treasurer/Social Chair, vacated by Elaine when she was elected president. Corey ran unopposed, and was elected by a vote of 6-0 with one abstention.

3:50pm: Discussed plans to hold an end-of-the-year party as an SLC social event. It was decided to be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 23, to be preceeded by a breif SLC meeting. Lunch will likely be provided at the meeting.

4:00pm: Meeting adjourned.
